When it became obvious I was never going to be one of the professional dancers on Dancing With The Stars 😉 I put away my can of spray tan and got real…I became very excited and more ready than ever to take the first step toward my second act.
If you’ve been tuning in from the beginning, you know I retired from Education a few years ago to pursue my passion for ‘life as a foodie, blogger and now Photographer (with a capital P)’. If you’re new to Ciao Chow Bambina and not familiar with my story you can catch up here.
The last seventeen months have been a veritable whirlwind…from planning to shopping and cooking and cleaning and food styling and photographing and writing and posting, all against a back-drop of kids coming and going (emphasis on going) …these have been some of the most emotional yet rewarding months of my life. By choosing to fire up some of the old nooks and crannies in my brain that had grown dormant over the years, my decision to start a blog, especially at this crossroad in my life, was a good one.
I’ve shared some of our empty-nest experiences and truthfully, being able to write and reflect with Dom, has helped us tremendously with our transition. We still (rather frequently) have our sentimental moments, that will never change, but we’re finding a new rhythm and it’s working…it’s so nice. And it’s true that you re-discover the person you’ve been with forever. It’s true that after thirty years knowing each other, married for twenty-six, there’s still so much to learn. It’s true that our life-adventure, now, includes the deepening of our friendship; the coddling of blooming friendships with each of our young adult children; and a clear focus on each of our careers, which happens to involve a new business. Yep. I’m excited to introduce here, the recent formation of Annie Sageer Photography, LLC.
My goal for this business is to capture and document beautiful foodie moments for folks in the food industry and to tell the story of their food with my pictures.
To wander down this next winding road, feels to me, a natural extension of my blog. And it’s a walk I’m ready to take, hand-in-hand with Dom, while face-timing with the kids. 🙂
The journey continues…
Ciao!
